…I wasn’t even supposed to be at that lunch. 
I was just tagging along to take notes while the senior partners schmoozed a potential client. One of the partners' plus-ones showed up late AF. She was sunkissed, her legs as long as time, and she smelled like she’d just flown in from the Mediterranean. After lunch, we bumped into each other in the restroom.
 She asked how long I’d been practicing law. (I lol’d, in my head.) 
I told her I was just interning, trying to build my résumé. She looked at me and smiled, like she knew something I didn’t and said:
 "There are faster ways to power than playing it safe…" Then she handed me a card with a website name and QR code, winked, and walked out. I never caught her name, but she definitely planted a seed and left my mind stirring in a quiet storm of possibilities. Now I’m here; innocent face, soft chaos, and a mind that always wonders what’s on the other side.
